FORT ATKINSON, Wis. (December 21, 2009) – According to the Road America Web site the NASCAR Nationwide Series has scheduled an event at the four-mile venue on Saturday, June 19th. Officials at Road America announced Monday that the Mid-American Stock Car Series will serve as an undercard that weekend.

Mid-American had originally scheduled a tentative early August event at Road America, but officials from both sides agreed to host the event during the June weekend.

“This is a great opportunity for our drivers to be in the pit area with some of their heroes,” MASCS co-owner Doug Strasburg said. “We’re all looking forward to what is going to be a spectacular weekend at a great venue.”

Details for the Mid-American portion of the event are forthcoming, but other information is available through Road America’s Web site www.roadamerica.com .

This past season Mid-American took a hiatus from racing at Road America after two years of the Fight for the Cure Fall Classic in conjunction with the American Cancer Society Run/Walk in October. Four-time Mid-American champion James Swan was victorious in 2007. Three-time champion Bill Prietzel sailed to victory lane in 2008.

“We’re certainly glad we could get back to Road America,” said Strasburg. “This is a great way to do it.”

The Mid-American Stock Car Series will finalize its 2010 schedule in early January.
