Mid American Stock Car Series
September 26, 2009

OREGON, Wis. (September 26, 2009) – The Mid-American Stock Car Series lost its second event of 2009 Saturday morning as Madison International Speedway was forced to cancel its Fall Classic.

“Wet conditions and continued threat of rain were some of the factors in making this decision,” John Wells, director of media/public relations, said. Sunday will not be utilized as a rain date.

Mid-American lost its first event of the season at Rockford Speedway not once, but twice in April. The original date of April 19 washed out, as well as the make-up date the following week.

With the loss of MIS’ event, only two races remain in the 17th season of MASCS competition. Paul Neisius holds a 30-point advantage over three-time champion Bill Prietzel.

The next event for Mid-American is scheduled for next Sunday, Oct., 4 at Rockford Speedway. As part of the 44th Annual National Short Track Championships, Mid-American will run a 75-lap feature event. The following event will be the final of 2009, Oktoberfest Race Weekend at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.

Rockford Speedway is located at 9572 Forest Hills Road seven miles north of downtown Rockford, just two miles west of Interstate 90 at the intersection of Forest Hills Road and Highway 173 in Loves Park, IL. For more information please visit www.rockfordspeedway.com .
