HAPPY THANKSGIVING

The race is over. There is a winner circling the track and they pull in to victory lane, unbuckle, full of emotion and jump, out of the car. The announcer has the mic ready and barks out the winner for the day… The driver goes right to thanking the crew and then the sponsors. Sometimes they stumble and of course they do not want to miss anyone. The guys that get to Victory Lane more often seem to remember each one a little better. They have had practice.

We can take a good lesson from them. We too should be thankful and the more we practice the more things we can remember. It really does have an effect on our whole being – mental, spiritual, relational, and physical.

So what do you have that you need to give thanks for this year? The safety in the race season? Family? Parents? Home? Job? This nation we live in and its freedoms? Water and electric at the finger tips? Good Food? Health? Able to think well? All that is good and we give thanks but we want to think of the LORD and be thankful most of all for Him, what He has given (all the above and much more) and what He has done.

1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
Psalm 75:1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds.

Revelation 11:16-17 16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.
Jeremiah 33:11 "Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever."
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

1 Thessalonians1:2 We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.
As we see there is much to be thankful for and we know we are to say thanks to those around us and to the LORD. He has blessed us in great ways. We look around and see what God has given, so we need to turn to Him and thank Him. The greatest gift is the one mentioned in 2 Corinthians 9:15. It is referring to Jesus and His gift of salvation.

I hope you know the LORD in a personal way. I hope you have asked Him to forgive your sins. I hope you have asked Him to lead your life in every area. I hope you have surrendered to Him. I hope you love Him with all your heart. I hope you know that if you were to die today you would be in heaven for worship of the LORD. We have so much to be thankful for.
