WOW, WHAT A COUPLE OF WEEKS, part 2

In part one we talked about the fire and wrecks at Rockford. We talked about the reality of hell and how awful the flames of hell are. It would be a terrible thing to end the story in flames. Going back to Luke and the rich man, he wanted badly to let others know how serious it was. In Part One we sent the warning out.

In Part Two we will look at what happened. Jeremy did not give up. He kept working all week long. He had been saved from the fire and still had a shot at the championship. This too is a good picture of eternal things.

Once we are saved, once we have confessed sin and that Jesus is LORD we are called to go to work. Read Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. The verses prior tell us about salvation and then verse 10 says there is a work God has prepared for us. Just as Jeremy was saved from the flames, there was work to be done to have the championship, the reward God had prepared for him. I know that you all worked hard and you too had a finishing position prepared for you too. If Jeremy was satisfied with a good season and he could have rested on that, but instead he battled on. That is what we are to do also.

Let’s take a look at what God says about “reward”. In Job 34:33 Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to repent? And in Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven. God will not just let us get away with anything. He wants to reward us but He has lines between right and wrong.

I hope you have taken the step of salvation and are on to the work for the LORD. We get the blessing of that.
