WILLIAMSTON, South Carolina (March 20, 2012) - - After closing out the 2011 CARS Pro Cup Series (formally known as the USARacing Pro Cup Series) season with his first career stock-car win at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway last November, Bryan Silas and his T3R Racing team will unload their leashes when the 2012 season kicks off this Saturday from Anderson (S.C.) Speedway.

Description: USAR HeadshotSilas, a huge fan of the highly competitive CARS Pro Cup Series is eager to get to the track and experience first-hand the array of changes that series officials elected to make during the off-season. From tires, to fuel and a few kicks in-between, Silas in his No. 99 Rockingham Speedway Ford Fusion will be searching for back-to-back victories in the highly anticipated and unprecedented “re-launch” debut of the series.

“There are a lot of unknowns heading into the race this weekend, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing,” offered Silas, who is taking a break from his full-time campaign in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) to compete in the short-track series. “I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy competing in the CARS Pro Cup Series,” he explained. “It’s so competitive, the action is close and the spirit surrounding the series is contagious. It’s a series where you can go to the track and have a lot of fun.”

For this weekend, the T3R Racing team, led by Silas’s NCWTS crew chief Cal Boprey, will look to dial in their automobile and help kick-start what is scheduled to be a limited schedule for the family-owned race team on the circuit this season.

Even though Silas has never tackled the Williamston, South Carolina racetrack, the duo will look to utilize Saturday as a grand opportunity to sync their blue oval with the track and look for another racing triumph for the 24-year old.

The Palmetto State 250 is the first race on the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Pro Cup Series tour in 2012. Practice begins Friday, March 23rd from 2:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. Three practice sessions have been schedule for race day on Saturday, March 24 starting at 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. with a final “happy hour” session etched in from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Qualifying is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. An on-track autograph session has been wedged into the busy day from 7:00 p.m. – 7:40 p.m. with the 250-lap slugfest set to take the green flag at 8:15 p.m. that night. All times are local.

Following Anderson, Silas and his team will resume their focus on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tour with their second race quickly on the horizon on Saturday, March 31 from Martinsville (Va.) Speedway for the running of the Kroger 250.
