RANDLEMAN, North Carolina (April 2, 2012) - - For the second consecutive race, Ryan Wilson Motorsports (RWM) with Randleman, North Carolina native Ryan Wilson at the helm showed extreme speed. However, issues beyond the team's control resulted in less than desirable finishes.

The team dodged Mother Nature again on Saturday morning before the skies cleared out allowing the competitors to take to the track. Wilson in his No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry maneuvered some of the sessions’ quickest laps giving his Kirk Bryant-led team some momentum heading into qualifying.

In time trials, it was all about RWM as Wilson circled the North Carolina-short track quickly to claim his first pole of the season, and second front row qualifying effort in as many races. With the track’s standard redraw tactics, Wilson would line up for the first 50-lap hunt in the fourth position.

It did not take long for the 20-year old to muscle his No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry into the second position, right on the leader’s back bumper. Unfortunately a malfunction with the left rear shock caused handling issues to quickly set-in. Wilson was able to ride out the condition through the first 50-lapper to take the checkered flag in fourth.

A top eight invert for the night's second race would line Wilson up fifth. With the previous issues repaired, the rising star quickly invaded the leader’s space within a few short laps.

With Wilson and the leader checking-out from the rest of the competition, it appeared to be a two-man battle for the top-spot. Eyeing for the lead, Wilson began to make his move before causing minor damage to the duct work and beginning to overheat, losing power, ending up a disappointing eighth place with a DNF (did not finish).

“Once again, we were able to show speed in our No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry, but just can’t get the luck to swing our way,” offered Wilson. “I hate it, because we really had a shot at victory, but our turn will come, it’s just a matter of time. We’re showing that our cars are strong and competitive. I feel like we had the best car, it’s just heartbreaking that we don’t have anything to show for it. We’ll just pick up the pieces and march forward.”

Action resumes for the RWM team again at Caraway on Saturday, April 7 for another dose of twin-50 lap features.
