TALLADEGA, Alabama (April 14, 2011) - - Despite qualifying 28th for tomorrow’s 3 Amigos 250 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, New Philadelphia, Ohio native Chad Hackenbracht is heavily optimistic about his second go-around with the 2.66-mile restrictor plate oval.
In practice Thursday, Hackenbracht posted the 29th fastest lap in the No. 58 CGH Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS and while the car didn’t produce the fast single-car runs like some of their other competitors, the CGH Motorsports team led by crew chief Rob Torrey believe their Chevrolet bow-tie will have plenty of steam to stay in the lead draft for the second of 19 ARCA races this season.
“It’s not about where you start; it’s where you finish,” said Hackenbracht. “The car isn’t the fastest by it self but it will run good in the draft and that’s what counts the most at a place like Talladega. This is my best start at Talladega, so we just need to take this starting position in stride and stay positive for a good finish tomorrow.”
Hackenbracht, the 2008 National Asphalt Legends champion is eyeing a strong finish after a disappointing start to the season where a mid-race incident none of his doing erased him from competition.
“We finished just outside the top-20 here at Talladega last year and I think we can beat that by a long shot. Having a good drafting partner and staying on your game will be the pieces to the puzzle for success tomorrow. With Rob (Torrey, crew chief) and Kevin (Reed, director of competition) calling the shots on the pit box, I know I have two of the best in the business that will put this CGH Motorsports team in the hunt.”
CGH Motorsports is actively seeking additional marketing partners for the full 2011 ARCA Racing Series schedule. Single, multi and full-season placements are available on the team’s No. 58 entries. Interested parties are urged to contact Jordan Dahl at 570.234.5449 or jordan@cghmotorsports.com.
The 3 Amigos 250 (94 laps / 250 miles) is the second of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 49th ever ARCA race at Talladega Superspeedway is a two-day show. A 45-minute final practice has been etched in on Friday, April 15 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:55 a.m. The event will take the green flag that afternoon shortly after 4:00 p.m. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional live broadcasting available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com in collaboration with Alabama’s local WTDR Thunder 92.7 FM. All times are local (Central).
