SALISBURY, North Carolina (May 11, 2012) - - Andy Belmont Racing (ABR), a longtime fixture in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards announced today the addition of Brandon Kidd who will drive a part-time schedule beginning next weekend at Toledo Speedway.

The 20-year old will drive in a minimum of four ARCA Racing Series (ARS) events including Iowa Speedway (July 13), Lucas Oil Raceway Park at Indianapolis (July 27) and a to-be-determined race. Kidd will be a teammate to Mikey Kile in the No. 1 ModSpace Ford Fusion.

Kidd is poised to make his fifth ARCA Racing Series start at Toledo Speedway driving the No. 2 NASCAR Racing Experience Ford Fusion. In his previous four ARS attempts, he has a best finish of 12th in his inaugural debut in 2010 at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway after qualifying 14th. He also has prior starts at Lucas Oil Raceway, Iowa Speedway and Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.

“It’s an exciting feeling to be back in the ARCA Racing Series,” said Kidd, a native of Manlius, New York. “I want to thank Andy Belmont and his group for the opportunity to drive the No. 2 Ford Fusion. I’m focused as ever to do a good job and make our sponsors proud. I have a lot of respect for Andy and Mikey (Kile) too, so I just feel like that this is my best opportunity yet in the series.”

Belmont commented on the announcement by saying, “We’re happy to have Brandon Kidd a apart of the Andy Belmont Racing team,” he said. “Brandon has a lot of desire and drive, that’s something I really appreciate in a young driver. We have already tested with him at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway and I think he’ll do fine at Toledo next weekend. We’re going to test him there, so that will undoubtedly help him as he prepares for his first run of 2012. Hopefully we’ll have some good finishes with him and our relationship will turn into something more concrete down the road.”

In addition to the NASCAR Racing Experience, Myrtle Beach Speedway, Romano Auto Dealerships and Pinnacle Investments will join the No. 2 entry as associate sponsors for his tenure at ABR.

The Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care (200 laps / 100 miles) is the fifth of 20 events on the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 71st ARCA race at Toledo Speedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Saturday, May 19 with a forty-five practice session planned from 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A final practice is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell is set for later in the day slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. The event will take the green flag Sunday, May 20 shortly after 2:00 p.m. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional coverage including timing and scoring available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com.
