CONCORD, North Carolina (April 27, 2011) - - Race car driver Jeremy Frankoski continues to keep his head in the racing game and explore all of his options as the open wheel star recently competed in Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge presented by Speed Sport News at Little Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.
Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge presented by Speed Sport News is the newest creation in an effort to find racing’s next future star. Beginning in March and conclude in June at the track known as “The Little Rock” in Rockingham, North Carolina.
The challenge is out to breed the next up-and-comers, who will have one shot during the three month contest (25 days of competition will be held during the three month run) and advance from a Fast Track High Performance Driving School car to a full-executed ARCA Racing Series stock car against one of racing’s finest stars all in one day. The overall winner will be approved to compete in ARCA’s return to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis for the running of the Ansell Protective Gloves 200 on Thursday, July 28, 2011 live on SPEED.
For Frankoski, the former USAC Ford Focus Carolina champion – the opportunity to participate in such an experience with the 1995 ARCA champion was a real honor.
“I feel like the session went real well,” said Frankoski, who also has dabbled in Late Models. “The Little Rock is a very tight little short track but a lot of fun, especially in the ARCA cars. I feel like my chances are good to have a shot to be the winner. Time will only tell though if we’ll have a shot to run at Lucas Oil Raceway in June.”
Hillenburg, the two-time Daytona ARCA winner was overwhelmed with the ability and car control that Frankoski balanced in his first tango with a 3,400-pound ARCA car.
“Jeremy Frankoski is a wheel of talent,” Hillenburg said. “He’s definitely brought some class, integrity and speed into our Fast Track Blue Collar Hero Driver Challenge presented by Speed Sport News. If he does become the winner, he should be able to bring a lot to the series and Fast Track Racing. Whatever happens, he’s someone we’ll have to watch for a long time.”
Currently, Frankoski is competing in a full-season in the NorthEastern Midget Association (NEMA) tour for Adam Cantor Racing (ACR) in the No. 7NY IGA / Reichert Group Mopar machine. Earlier this month in the season-opener he finished third at Waterford Speedbowl in Connecticut.
In two consecutive years with NEMA, Frankoski has tallied 27 starts, one win, nine top-fives and 18 top-10 finishes.
