GREENVILLE, South Carolina (March 29, 2012) - - If there was a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKPSE) team that rightfully earned some respect and attention following the Widow Wax 125 presented by SealWrap Repair Tape at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway two weeks ago, Spraker Racing Enterprises (SRE) and driver Chad Finchum definitely fit into that category.

During the 125-lap shootout, Finchum was able to master his way from his 25th starting position to net an impressive seventh place outing in the No. 37 Texas Roadhouse Toyota Camry at “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”

With a brief break, the Spraker Racing Enterprises team led by veteran Jeff Spraker and Finchum have used the finish as an early sign of momentum and head to Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway this weekend looking for another strong finish in Saturday night’s Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150.

To prepare for Saturday’s contest, the team recently participated in a private test session with two race cars – vigorously identifying the characteristics that are crucial to short track racing success. Now, Finchum, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee is ready to bolt his top-10 finishing positions into top-five performances.

“I was extremely proud of Chad at Bristol,” offered Spraker. “He really impressed me with the way he was able to manage traffic in an extremely competitive field and patiently worked his way to a top-10 finish. We didn’t get the starting position we wanted because of our early draw in qualifying, but Chad was able to prove if you have a fast racecar, you can go to the front. Now, we’re heading to Greenville this weekend where it’s another tight short-track, where many of the same necessities that came into foray at Bristol will take effect on Saturday as well.”

He added, “We went testing at Greenville last week and I was happy with our performance, especially after making some changes to the car. I know Chad is eager to keep his strong start to the season alive and so are we. There is little doubt in my mind that if luck is on our side, we can back-up our performance from Bristol and hopefully better it. I appreciate the hard work of everyone on the Spraker Racing Enterprises team.”

After combing forces before Bristol, it’s evident that the work of Finchum’s group and the knowledge and strength of Spraker Racing Enterprises, they have proven to be a healthy clan. Leading the team for a second-consecutive race will be crew chief Dinky Torbett who worked with the teenager last year.

“When you put two dedicated teams together under one roof, you feel the excitement and vibration,” explained Spraker. “Our team has gelled very well with Chad Finchum’s staff and it’s clear that we’re going to Greenville this weekend under one umbrella, but with the same ultimate goal.”

17-year old Finchum will aim to make his sixth career NKPSE start this weekend. In his five previous starts, he has negotiated a best finish of seventh, three times at Bowman-Gray (N.C.) Stadium and Gresham (Ga.) Motorsports Park last season and most recently at Bristol on March 17.

The Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville-Pickens (S.C.) Speedway is set for this Saturday, March 31 with a set liftoff at 8:00 p.m. The event will be tape-delayed on SPEED with a soon-to-be determined airing date.

Mike Bliss, Dexter Bean, Drew Brannon, Clay Campbell, Kerry Earnhardt, Joey Gase, Ron Hornaday Jr., P.J. Jones, Alex Kennedy, Brandon McReynolds, Steve Park, David Ragan, Scott Riggs, David Reutimann, Casey Roderick, Michelle Theriault, Darrell Waltrip and Smokey Yunick are just some of the drivers that Spraker, who also has starts for himself in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series (NKNPS), NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) has been affiliated with in one capacity or another through SRE.
