MARNE, Michigan (July 6, 2011) - - After securing his seventh top-10 finish of the season in the most recent ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway, Grant Enfinger and his Springfield, Illinois-based Allgaier Motorsports trek to Berlin (Mich.) Raceway for Saturday night’s Hantz Group 200.

While Enfinger, in the mist of his first full season of ARCA competition has never seen the daunting Marne, Michigan race track, his Allgaier Motorsports has and with success. 2008 ARCA champion Justin Allgaier wheeled his No. 36 machine in three races, securing a pole in 2008 and a best finish of second that same night. Additionally, Allgaier posted three consecutive top-10 finishes at the tricky short track. Robb Brent, the team’s pilot in 2009 and 2010 also posted solid results with top-15 place runs.

With Allgaier, the current NASCAR Nationwide Series superstar just a phone call away should the Fairhope, Alabama native need some advice, Enfinger, well rested after celebrating the Independence Day holiday would like nothing more than to notch his first career win in his Berlin (Mich.) Raceway debut.

“I’m not going into Berlin completely blindsided,” said Enfinger, driver of the No. 36 Hoosier Tire Midwest / racetires.com Dodge Charger. “I may have never been to Berlin, but the team has and that’s reassuring for any driver. I’ve been through this story once before and it probably won’t be my last time, we just need to go into the day with an open-mind and keep our season on-track.”

Speaking of on-track, Allgaier Motorsports owned by Mike Allgaier has been one of the most consistent race teams on the ARCA Racing Series circuit in 2011. After nine races, the team has mounted two top-fives and seven top-10 finishes. The team’s worst effort of the year thus far has been a 14th at Michigan International Speedway last month where transmission issues kept the family-owned team from tallying another top-10 to their stats.

“We’re running well,” sounded Enfinger. “Everyone on the Allgaier Motorsports team puts more effort in than anyone could ever ask for and it’s shown with our results. We’re not super funded, but we’re making the best out of the situation. I appreciate Kelly (Kovski, crew chief), Mike (Allgaier), Justin (Allgaier), Ashley (Allgaier) and the whole Allgaier Motorsports team for the opportunity to drive and build me good race cars. I know with a little luck, we can return this No. 36 to victory lane.”

Addressing the fourth short track race of the season, the 26-year old readies Saturday night’s anticipated assault with attentiveness. “I think it’s going to be a typical short track race,” sounded Enfinger. “From what I’ve heard, track position is pretty crucial at Berlin. I’ll let you know what I think about the place after the race on Saturday night. My goal though for this weekend is to keep this team on the straight and narrow and put our No. 36 Hoosier Tire Midwest / racetires.com Dodge Charger in contention for the win.”

Just past the halfway mark of the season, Enfinger and Co. lock fifth in the ARCA Racing Series championship standings just 20 points behind fourth place runner Chad McCumbee.

“No one really knows what is going to happen as far as the championship is concerned,” Enfinger added. “Ty (Dillon) is having a stellar year but anything can happen in these next nine races. We can’t worry about the championship per say at this point, the biggest thing we need to do is keep our Allgaier Motorsports team up front and in the spotlight as much as we can.”

Entering Berlin, Enfinger has 27 ARCA Racing Series starts to his credit. In those events, he has maneuvered nine top-fives and 17 top-10 finishes including a career-best finish of second three times at Kentucky Speedway (July 2009), Chicagoland Speedway (August 2009) and Toledo Speedway (May 2011). He has controlled the field eight times for 141 laps. Two fifth place qualifying runs at Toledo Speedway (October 2008) and Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (June 2011) are his best time trials efforts to date.

The Hantz Group 200 (200 laps / 100 miles) is the 10th of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 24th ARCA race at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway is a one-day show. Practice begins Saturday, July 9 with a one hour and half practice session planned from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin later in the day at 5:00 p.m. The field will take the green flag later that night shortly after 8:00 p.m. The race will not be televised but event coverage including live timing and scoring throughout the 1,322nd race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since it was formed in 1953 will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com presented by ARCANation.com.
