WINCHESTER, Indiana (June 27, 2011) - - There’s no question that Springfield, Illinois-based Allgaier Motorsports has showed consistency this season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. That consistency continued Saturday in ARCA’s return to Winchester (Ind.) Speedway for the running of the Winchester ARCA 200.

For the team’s driver Grant Enfinger, it was a tireless night after competing in a Late Model race in Pensacola, Florida where Enfinger started on the pole but settled for fourth. Traveling to another short track on the heels of a solid night gave Enfinger, a popular fixture in the ARCA garage a boost before climbing in his No. 36 Hoosier Tire Midwest / racetires.com Dodge Charger.

In practice, Enfinger, the Fairhope, Alabama native mounted the 10th fastest time around the half-mile oval giving the Mike Allgaier-owned team a solid baseline heading into qualifying. Conferring with crew chief Kelly Kovski, the two talents traded ideas all in the hopes of finding more speed for the No. 36 Hoosier Tire Midwest / racetires.com Dodge Charger.

The avid short track star was able to find a little more speed in his Dodge Charger but would start the ninth race of the year from the 13th position.

From the drop of the green flag, Enfinger showed patience while trying to maneuver his Allgaier Motorsports machine into the top-10. An early race caution on lap found the No. 36 Hoosier Tire Midwest / racetires.com Dodge Charger in the top-10.

When racing resumed, Enfinger continued to slowly inch his way through the running order and by lap 30 had moved his machine into the seventh position.

The 26-year old would continue to hover safely inside the top-10 until lap 88 when trouble struck the Allgaier Motorsports team when the right front tire deflated forcing Enfinger to bring his automobile to pit road under green flag conditions where the Allgaier Motorsports team quickly changed tires and added Sunoco fuel and sent their driver back into competition.

Unfortunately, Enfinger would lose four laps during the mishap which would force the 2008 ARCA championship team to shift their strategy to keep the fenders on their race car and to claim the checkered.

Tire problems continued for several ARCA competitors during the second half of the race which allowed the No. 36 to re-enter the top-10. Sandwiched between Frank Kimmel and John Blankenship on the same lap, Enfinger would take the checkered flag in the ninth position securing the team’s seventh top-10 of 2011.

“We never gave up,” said Enfinger. “We had to chase the set-up; we were loose in and then battled tight coming off. We kept working on it and we were getting better than the tire went down. There was really nothing we could do at that point except solider on and try and bring home a good finish.”

“I appreciate the hard work of the Allgaier Motorsports team. If you look at the results, we haven’t finished worse than 14th in nine races that says a lot, especially considering the limited sponsorship dollars we have. Hopefully, we’ll be able to put this Allgaier Motorsports car back in victory lane soon, where it belongs.”

The team’s effort on Saturday night allowed Enfinger to jump from sixth to fifth in the ARCA Racing Series point standings trailing fourth place competitor Chad McCumbee by 20 points.

Next up for the ARCA Racing Series is their final stop in the Great Lakes state with a stop at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway for the running of the Hantz Group 200 set for Saturday, July 9th. Enfinger will make his debut at the tight flat .4-mile oval.

Exiting Winchester, Enfinger has 27 ARCA Racing Series starts to his credit. In those events, he has maneuvered nine top-fives and 17 top-10 finishes including a career-best finish of second three times at Kentucky Speedway (July 2009), Chicagoland Speedway (August 2009) and Toledo Speedway (May 2011). He has controlled the field eight times for 141 laps. Two fifth place qualifying runs at Toledo Speedway (October 2008) and Pocono (Pa.) Raceway (June 2011) are his best time trials efforts to date.
