They Call It “Too Tough To Tame”: Phoenix, Arizona native J.J. Yeley will attempt to make his fifth career start at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway on Saturday night. In his previous four events, Yeley qualified a track best of 22nd in 2007 and has a best finish of 18th in the same event in the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). He also has three starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) with a best start of seventh in 2007 and finish of ninth in 2006 also driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Announcement Coming Soon: Genuine Partners along with J.J. Yeley will make an endorsement announcement next week that will carry into the remainder of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season.

Facebook Fun: By visiting the official J.J. Yeley Fan Page on Facebook, fans will have the opportunity to place “Speed Dice.” Fans are encouraged to submit a number between 2-12 and Yeley himself puts two dice inside his No. 46 Whitney Motorsports Chevrolet and upon returning to the garage from the completion of his qualifying run, Yeley retrieves the dice and works with his management team to see which fans guessed the correct number for the dice. Once the guessers are correctly chosen, Yeley then places all the winners into his helmet with their name on it, shakes the helmet and retrieves the final winner of the weekly addition of “Speed Dice.” The winner will receive a memorabilia item from J.J. Yeley himself. For additional rules and instructions on how to play, please visit J.J. Yeley’s Facebook fan page.

Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, Pre-Race Quotes: J.J. Yeley, driver of the No. 46 Red Line Oil Chevrolet Impala:

On Darlington (S.C.) Raceway: “I love Darlington. The race track has so much character and history to it. It is one of the widest tracks that we race at with the narrowest racing groove.”

On The Key To Success At The Track They Call Too Tough To Tame: “The biggest thing about Darlington is staying focused behind the wheel. The groove at Darlington is less than two feet from the fence and we are running close to 200 miles per hour! It is not uncommon to rub the fence at least two or three times in a race.”

On What You Need To Tame Darlington: “Darlington is a track that takes the whole package in order to be successful. Now that the track has been re-paved, horsepower is more important now than it has ever been. Track position is also very critical because it is tough to pass.”

On His Fondest Memory At Darlington (S.C.) Raceway: “My fondest moment of Darlington was my first test in a Nationwide Series car. It was so exciting running right against the wall, almost wide open all the way around the track. It was the closest style of race track that I learned to race on in open wheel.”

On Racing Saturday Night Compared To Sunday or Sunday Night: “It is nice to have Saturday night races. It allows me to spend more time with my family compared to a Sunday night race that I won’t get home until very late or even the next morning. I prefer night races to day races anyway. The cars are faster, the track has more grip so the racing is usually better.”

On Making Speed Dice A Weekly Fixture For His Fan Base: “I do enjoy doing Speed Dice on a weekly basis. My fans seem to really enjoy playing, I have been averaging around 250+ people between Twitter (@jjyeley1) or on my Facebook page. My goal is to eventually have 20,000 twitter followers by the end of the year. It’s something a little different but a great way to keep in touch with my fans frequently.”
