WINCHESTER, Indiana (June 22, 2011) - - Jared Marks made an impression in his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut last month at Toledo Speedway. This weekend, Marks, the development driver for Tony Marks Racing (TMR) looks to equal or better his 13th place finish in Saturday night’s Winchester ARCA 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts.
Since his superb finish in the No. 8 VR-12 / Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger at Toledo, Marks has been attending the last few ARCA Racing Series events to become more familiar with the technical side of the series, while also assisting and supporting his teammate, Maryeve Dufault in the No. 12 VR-12 / Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger.
To enhance his efforts behind the wheel and off the track, Marks moved to Mooresville, North Carolina earlier this month where he will remain during the summer break. Currently, Marks works in the TMR shop every day, assisting both his ARCA Racing Series and Late Model teams.
Anxious to get behind the wheel as any rising star would be, Marks is focused on earning more respect and taking the checkered flag at the demanding Winchester (Ind.) Speedway.
“I think I’m ready to go,” said Marks. “We had a good run at Toledo, which has kept my confidence up heading into this weekend. Winchester is so much different than Toledo though. It’s faster and high-banked like Salem, which means concentration will probably be everything.”
He added, “I want to be competitive, qualify well and take the checkered flag. Hopefully, Maryeve and I can work together however we need to put two TMR cars in the top-10.”
Tony Marks, a successful entrepreneur from Ohio will play two roles this weekend at Winchester Speedway. In addition to car owner, Marks will continue to sit back and watch his son live out his dream.
“I’m eager to get to Winchester, just because I feel like it’s going to be a good weekend,” said Marks, a former race car driver himself. “Jared and Maryeve both have their game face on and want to do well for VR-12 and Dodge. As an owner, I cannot ask for much more than that. I can’t predict what’s going to happen during the race, but I know that both drivers will exercise patience while keeping the goal clear in the back of their mind to finish the race.”
The Winchester ARCA 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts (200 laps / 100 miles) is the ninth of 19 events on the 2011 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 22nd ARCA race at Winchester is a one-day show. Practice begins Saturday, June 25 with a one hour and half practice session planned from 1:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin later in the day at 4:45 p.m. The field will take the green flag later that night shortly after 8:00 p.m. The race will not be televised but event coverage including live timing and scoring throughout the 1,321st race for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since it was formed in 1953 will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com presented by ARCANation.com. All times are local.

For the NASCAR events TMR along with TMT, Inc. partnered with Forgotten Harvest for the “Million Meal Challenge For Our Kids” which helps to bridge the hunger gap while schools are out of session and feeds 20,000 children per day in the Detroit metro area. Forgotten Harvest was significantly displayed on the entry of Chase Austin during both the Truck and Nationwide events at Michigan International Speedway along with logos of “Million Meal Challenge” sponsors Walgreen’s, United Race Group, Holyfield’s Choice Alka-Power Water and Vitamin Spice. Evander Holyfield was also instrumental in the challenge, acting as Grand Marshall for the August race and announcing his “Fight Against Hunger” on behalf of Forgotten Harvest.
As the first race team to “Drive Against Hunger” through their partnership with Forgotten Harvest, TMR plans to continue their alliance with Forgotten Harvest and once again “Drive Against Hunger” during the 2011 season.
