Cayuga Recap: In their first trip north of the border, Sheltra Motorsports endured a tough outing at Cayuga Motor Speedway in the Cayuga ARCA RE/MAX 250. After starting 17th, Patrick Sheltra maneuvered his No. 60 Groupe Beton Brunet Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS to the front and led 11 laps before becoming a victim in short track carnage. The team finished the event 18th completing 249 of 257 circuits.
Welcome Back: For the second consecutive event Sheltra Motorsports will welcome Groupe Beton Brunet onboard as a primary marketing partner for Friday’s Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150. Groupe Beton Brunet held the primary marketing partner role in the most recent ARCA event at Cayuga Motor Speedway on June 29th. Groupe (pronounced Group) Beton (pronounced Be-Ton) Brunet (pronounced Brew-Nay) has more than 75 years experience in the underground/infrastructure industry throughout Eastern Canada. Groupe Beton Brunet grown substantially in adding (7) new acquisitions and various product lines. Groupe Beton Brunet has expanded their markets to include the United States with a plant located in Florida.
New Addition To The Team: Sheltra Motorsports welcomes Phillip Lindley to the team for the Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150. Lindley joins the Sheltra Motorsports team as the rear tire carrier and mechanic. Lindley is a recent graduate of the NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) and has experience in the Motorsports arena working for other organizations.
Kentucky Speedway Rewind: Patrick Sheltra will make his fourth career start at Kentucky Speedway Friday night. In his previous three outings, Sheltra’s worst finish was 18th while posting two top-10 finishes of ninth (May 2007) and most recently seventh in the Drive Smart! Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 in May.
Hoping To Charge To The Front: Crew Chief John Hayden will unload the Dodge Charger nameplate for the fifth time this season in Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 150. The Chrysler brand automobile has been particularly kind to the sophomore team this season with three top-10 finishes at Kansas Speedway (eighth), Kentucky Speedway (seventh) and most recently Michigan International Speedway (sixth). The team also ran a Dodge Charger at Pocono Raceway but experienced engine failure while running fourth in June.
Nice Stat: Halfway through the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series, Sheltra Motorsports has fielded a car for Patrick Sheltra that has run in the top-10 for all 10 events thus far this season. The team has amassed one top-five with a runner-up at Toledo Speedway while holding four additional top-10 finishes. The team’s season best qualifying effort came at Kansas Speedway where Sheltra awarded himself with a career best run of eighth. The team has led two races at Kansas Speedway and Cayuga Motor Speedway for a total of 15 laps.
Looking Ahead: Sheltra Motorsports will announce this week a new primary marketing partner for next Saturday’s Berlin ARCA 200 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. Last year, Sheltra in his inaugural trip to the .4-mile paved oval qualified 17th before marching to a then career best fourth.

Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief John Hayden has elected to bring Sheltra chassis number 12 to Kentucky Speedway this weekend. The primary machine is the same Dodge Charger that Sheltra maneuvered to a seventh place finish at Kentucky Speedway in the spring. Chassis number 15 will serve as the team’s back-up automobile. This is the same racecar that the Whitesville, Kentucky based team competed with at Pocono Raceway in June.
Point Standings: After round 10 on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Patrick Sheltra sits ninth in the championship standings accumulating 2,070 points. Sheltra is 130 markers from moving into the fifth position currently held by SunTrust Rookie-of-the-Year candidate John Wes Townley. 420 credits separate Sheltra from the points lead held by SunTrust Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.
