TOLEDO, Ohio (May 16, 2008) - - With an off-night from ARCA racing activities avid racecar driver Patrick Sheltra headed to Union County Speedway in Liberty, Indiana hoping to secure his first dirt victory of the season. He succeed in spectacular fashion leading all but five laps of his 30-lap feature to take the win Friday night.

Sheltra, driving his camouflaged No. 23 Brady Ranch-Sheltra & Son Construction-All About Flowers Chevrolet Monte Carlo started third and quickly sought the two leaders before overtaking them early in the run. Sheltra kept his competition at bay to score his first major triumph of the 2008 season.

“This is awesome,” said Sheltra. “I have to thank my entire dirt team for all of their hard work. We had a great night and a strong car. Hopefully tonight’s victory can lead into a much bigger win in Sunday’s ARCA race.”

Earlier in the night, Sheltra advanced to the feature after finished second in his heat.

With a popular win in the books, Sheltra will drive overnight to Toledo , Ohio where he will participate in practice and ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying Saturday at Toledo Speedway for the seventh race of the 2008 ARCA schedule, the Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care.

The 22-year old Sheltra heads to the half-mile oval looking for his second consecutive top-10 effort at the legendary oval after securing an impressive top-10 finish last October.

“Momentum is on my side and I’m pumped up and ready to go,” continued Sheltra. “With the win tonight, I feel we can go to Toledo this weekend and make it two-for-two. My asphalt Sheltra Motorsports team has worked hard all season long and we feel like we’ll have the car to beat for Sunday’s race.”

The Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care (100 miles/200 laps) is the seventh of 21 events on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The first of two events held at Toledo Speedway this season is a two-day show.
