TALLADEGA, Alabama (September 27, 2008) - - Last October at Talladega Superspeedway perhaps changed Dominick Casola’s life forever. Teaming up with veteran ARCA RE/MAX Series team Andy Belmont Racing (ABR), Casola had blossomed into a weekly contender heading into last year’s ARCA RE/MAX 250. By the end of the final restrictor plate race of the year, Casola could nearly call himself a winner by drafting his way to an impressive third place finish behind the wheel of the No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford Fusion.
A year later, the opportunity has been presented again for Casola to reunite with Andy Belmont Racing in time for the 20th event on the schedule at Talladega Superspeedway. Casola will drive the No. 14 A. Casola Farms Halloween Special for his third ever ARCA restrictor plate event.
“I’m really stoked about this opportunity to come back to Andy Belmont Racing and compete at Talladega Superspeedway,” said Casola who is hoping to return to the ARCA RE/MAX Series full time in 2009. “It was a magical day last October and while I won’t be driving the same car, I know the superspeedway equipment that Andy Belmont Racing is capable of providing, so I’m confident our A. Casola Farms Halloween Special will be a contender for the race.”
He continued, “I enjoyed competing at Talladega . It’s a smooth but super fast place. Last year was my first ever trip there and I never imagined that we would have the run we did. It took a lot of hard work by the team and everyone associated with the team. I’m looking forward to getting back to the front in ARCA competition and being in the hunt for my first career victory.”
Recently, Casola joined fellow ABR teammate Tom Hessert III for a two-day test at the 2.66-mile speedway. “Testing wasn’t bad. We learned a lot,” sounded Casola. “The guys took the car back to shop and I know when we unload for practice next week, we’re going to be stout and hopefully Tommy and I can give ABR a one-two finish.”
Casola added, “I want to thank Andy Belmont and his team for their hard work on putting this second competitive car together. His hard work has built his long-time ARCA team into a serious restrictor plate contender for the last two years. I don’t plan to let him down.”
To help Casola look for a spooktactular finish at Talladega , A. Casola Farms will sport a special Halloween scheme to help promote their furious and fun Halloween activities. A. Casola Farms will have daily pumpkin pickings, hay rides, petting zoos, corn mazes and their haunted hay rides at night. Not to mention the traditional fall cider and donuts. For an official list of activities and times, please call 732.332.1533 or visit CasolaFarms.com.
“The Halloween scheme was very good to us last year,” recalled, Casola, a Holmdel, New Jersey native. Our scheme is a little different this year but I’m hoping when we’re coming through the pack we can spook the rest of the competition and put A. Casola Farms and Andy Belmont Racing in victory lane!”
Entering Talladega , Casola has 32 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with a career best finish of third at Talladega Superspeedway (October 2007) with an additional top-five performance at Gateway International Raceway (September 2007). He also holds three more top-10 finishes at Pocono Raceway (August 2007 and June 2008) and Kentucky Speedway (May 2008). Casola’s career best qualifying effort occurred at Gateway International Raceway last year where he started sixth.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the ARCA RE/MAX 250 and the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. For detailed inquires, please contact Kim Casola at 732.672.0954.
