CHICAGO, Illinois (April 1, 2008) - - With the second race of the season less than two weeks away, the action is picking up around the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway is live tonight on RaceTalkRadio.com to cover it all!

Two weeks after the open test at Rockingham Speedway, the talk is still hot. Last week, Rockingham Speedway officials announced that Tony Stewart will serve as the honoree starter for the North Carolina 500K. The ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway will offer their two-cents as the former ARCA RE/MAX Series winner and current car owner returns to the ARCA scene.

Also on track for the first segment is chatting about the two open tests for the ARCA RE/MAX Series this week. Testing for Iowa Speedway, the third race on the agenda concludes on Tuesday evening. An additional round of open-testing continues at Kansas Speedway on Thursday, April 3 in preparation for the fourth event on the calendar. The ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway will cover the entries.

Doug Barnes, Hoosier Tire Manager for the ARCA RE/MAX Series will close out the first segment talking the latest changes coming to the sanction in 2008 and the upcoming event at Rockingham Speedway.

Following the first segment, ARCA Thunder focuses on the SPEEDtv.com Hot Seat with sophomore driver Patrick Sheltra on deck. Sheltra, driver of the No. 60 Ferguson Pipe Enterprises-FloraGanics Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS returns to ARCA Thunder for the first time in 2008. Sheltra will talk Daytona; the upcoming season; his three-tier racing program in 2008 and having Slinky apart of the Sheltra Motorsports team. “Mr. Showtime” as he’s nicknamed in the ARCA RE/MAX Series will also give his outlook on the team’s upcoming manufacturer change from Chevrolet to Dodge for the speedway challenge this year.

Proceeding Sheltra will be well-known female ARCA Thunder guest Gabi DiCarlo, driver of the No. 90 Great Clips Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for Stringer Motorsports in the Around The Track installment presented by Team GLOCK. DiCarlo will discuss her reflections on Daytona International Speedway; her recent test at Rockingham Speedway; the anticipating upgrade to TOYOTA Camry and the ever-growing female competition in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. DiCarlo sits 19th in the ARCA RE/MAX Series point standings following the season opener.

Before heading to break, the ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway will chat about the ARCAwhackers from Martinsville Speedway this past weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The final installment of the night will be jammed pack. Birthday boy Chris Knight, will kick off with his news and rumors presented by Race City Steel. Following the news segment, the ARCA Thunder team presented by Rockingham Speedway will discuss and play some audio from several ARCA drivers regarding their thoughts on the impending race at Salem Speedway.

The last topic of the night circles around the “Lucky Dog” award. Will the Lucky Dog program (race within the race for lapped down cars) create problems in ARCA? The experienced ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway will bark up about the topic.

"We're another week closer to race day and we'll be rockin and rollin on ARCA Thunder this week. Patrick Sheltra and Gabi DiCarlo will stop by and we're encouraging listeners to send in their questions for the drivers! These are a couple of up comers that we need to keep our eyes on,” said ARCA Thunder host Mike Harper

"It's also a great privilege to have ARCA sponsors on the show and we'll hear from Hoosier Tire's Doug Barnes, plus Mr. Knight has a birthday today so it will be a fun night for sure!"

Next week, ARCA Thunder presented by Rockingham Speedway is expected to welcome fellow ARCA reporter Bethann Puderbaugh from Inside The Pit Box who will “hang out” with the ARCA Thunder team and discuss her thoughts on the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
