Eddie Sharp Racing Takes Over ARCA Thunder Tonight!

“Host Mike Harper with Lori Munro, Chris Knight And Dennis Michelsen To Welcome ESR”

CHICAGO, Illinois (March 11, 2008) - - A week after Andy Belmont Racing (ABR) invaded the ARCA Thunder show for the first time in 2008 last Tuesday night, the ARCA team invasion continues with two of Eddie Sharp Racing’s talented drivers Ken Butler III and Justin Lofton ready for their first tango with the ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway tonight on RaceTalkRadio.com.

Before the ESR showdown, the first segment of the night has the potential to stir controversy. The ARCA Thunder team presented by Rockingham Speedway will talk about tires. Did Tony Stewart’s comments in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway have an affect on the series? What would happen if the same type of outburst occurred in the ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS)?

In the SPEEDtv.com Hot Seat, the ARCA Thunder crew presented by Rockingham Speedway welcomes former USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup ace and one of last year’s first time winners in ARCA competition Ken Butler III to the program. Known as “KB3” to the ARCA Thunder team, the North Carolina native will discuss his thoughts on competing for a championship effort behind the wheel of the No. 22 TOYOTA Camry. The Thunder Crew will also ask KB3 what it’s like to have a teammate like former Formula 1 driver Scott Speed.

Speed, driver of the No. 2 Red Bull TOYOTA Camry for ESR was originally supposed to be scheduled for the SPEEDtv.com Hot Seat segment but a scheduling conflict forced the pitch-hit with Ken Butler III. Speed will be rescheduled for a later date.

Following Butler III in Around The Track presented by Team GLOCK will be Speed’s teammate Justin Lofton. A new addition to ESR, Lofton is set to compete in a limited schedule for the team behind the wheel of the No. 20 Dodge Charger for a minimum of 10 ARCA RE/MAX Series events beginning with the second event of the season at Salem Speedway set for April 13. Lofton advances to the ARCA RE/MAX Series after competing in the NASCAR Camping World West Series (NCWWS) in 2007.

The final installment of the night will be jammed pack. ARCA insider Chris Knight will lead off the segment with his news and rumors presented by Race City Steel. Following the news segment, the ARCA Thunder team presented by Rockingham Speedway will discuss Phil Parsons, the SPEED ARCA television commentator who plans to compete in the Carolina 500K at Rockingham Speedway in May. A tough question for the ARCA Thunder crew will be presented. Which driver not currently expected to compete at Rockingham would you like to see on the entry list?

Also on the table will be the possible advance for multiple ARCA RE/MAX Series winner Mario Gosselin advancing his DGM Racing operation to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at some point during the 2008 season. Is Gosselin’s trend a possible future for the ARCA RE/MAX Series?

"As a fan it's hard to wait for the next race, but the Thunder shows have been a great filler while we wait," said show host Mike Harper. "Last week we picked pole winners and this week we'll talk about the hottest topic in racing - trashing tire sponsors! Plus we'll welcome a couple of drivers from Eddie Sharp Racing. I have such respect for Eddie Sharp and his stable of drivers, so I really looking forward to show."

Next week, ARCA Thunder presented by Rockingham Speedway will welcome back Dexter Bean for his Around The Track installment now sponsored by Team GLOCK, the sponsor of Bean’s No. 37 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the ARS under the Spraker Racing Enterprises banner.
