The NASCAR XFINITY Series held their final practice session of the day at Chicagoland Speedway for Saturday night’s Owens Corning AttiCat 300. Dylan Lupton will make his third XFINTIY Series start driving the No. 25 Zaxby’s Chevrolet Camaro for Athenian Motorsports.

In April, he made his second series start at Richmond (Va.) International Speedway. In March, the Wilton, California native made his XFINIY debut at Phoenix (Ariz.) International, finishing 19th after starting 23rd.

DYLAN LUPTON, NO. 25 ZAXBY’S CHEVROLET CAMARO
Team: Athenian Motorsports
Practice Time: 31.058 seconds at 173.868 MPH.
Practice Position: Seventh (7th)
Fastest Lap: 29th
Number of Laps Completed: 32
Qualifying Draw: 7 / 40
“I’m really proud of the Athenian Motorsports team. We made a lot of gains from first practice to our final run. The (tire) pressures were not high enough. They came to optimum grip level in the last run and that’s when we ran our fast time.
“We know this is going to be a competitive race Saturday night, so we need to keep our goals in check and know that as the race transitions from daylight to nightfall that we bump up our pressures for race runs.
“I think track position will be critical for the race, so if we can make it through the first two rounds of qualifying and put our No. 25 Zaxby’s Chevrolet Camaro inside the top-12 to start, I think we’ll be in a great spot for the race. I’m really excited. We made some gains and that’s what we need to do to get a top-10.”
The Owens Corning AttiCat 300 (150 laps / 300 miles) is the 14 of 34 events on the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series schedule.
