It's full name is the Mitsubishi Lancer GSR Evolution 1 and an example has come up for sale on eBay.

The Evo 1 was the first evolution of the Lancer to be sold outside Japan. It used the 2 litre turbocharged engine and four wheel drive system from the Mitsubishi Galant and the body from Japanese only Lancer models.

Evo 1 was introduced in September 1992 to satisfy homologation requirements for the World Rally Championship. Homologation required 2,500 cars to be built but they were sold so quickly another 2,500 were produced. The last Evo 1 rolled off the production line in December 1993.

The Evo 1 was available in red, green, black, white and silver. The engine produced 250bhp and 0-60mph took 5.1 seconds and it weighed 1,240kg.

The Mitsubishi Evo 1 was entered in the 1993 where it ended the season with a few results but no wins. Nonetheless, it is an important car that had a part to play in the fire breathing Evo and Impreza wars we saw a few years later both on the stages and roads.

The car for sale is a 1992 Evo 1 in red, although the paint has faded to a kind of dark pink. It's advertised for £1,995, which is a bit of a bargain considering the Evo 1's status in motoring history.
