SMALL CHILD HIT BY AUTO

Charles Crittenden Is Seriously Injured

Charles Boyce Crittenden, 6-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Crittenden, of North Florence, was seriously injured about 6 p.m. Monday when struck by an automobile driven by P. H. Perry, of Florence, on Wills avenue near the North Wood Avenue Methodist church.

The child was taken to the Eliza Coffee Memorial hospital immediately and attending physicians announced his morning that he spent a good night. They stated the child was considerably bruised and probably suffered some internal injuries which will require several days to show their extent.

Mr. Perry stated that he took the route down Wills avenue to avoid the congestion on North Wood avenue on account of the preparations going forward for the fair. He said that he felt a bump when the car struck the child, but did not know whether or not the automobile passed over the child. Mr. Perry added he did not see the child on account of approachings cars.
