Union Officials Say 1,000 Men Are Now Fighting Wage Cut.
Leaders of the striking chauffeurs and taxicab workers of the Black and White Taxicab Company yesterday attempted to extend the walkout to drivers of the Fay Taxi Company, whose cabs have taken up the stands formerly occupied by the Black and White cabs. Daniel Coyle, business agent for the Chauffeurs' Union, said that seventy-five Fay company drivers had left work.
At the offices of the Black and White Company it was stated that the situation was at a deadlock, and that no attempt had been made to operate its cabs. Union leaders said that more than 1,000 chauffeurs and workmen are on strike against a proposed cut in the employes' share of receipts.
