Seeks to Break Jinx

Langhorne, May 16 — Jim Delaney, colorful stock car speedster from Lyndhurst, N. J., is determined he will break the jinx that has followed him around the short course at Langhorne and ride home a winner in Sunday's 20-lap Delaware Valley Handicap. Faulty motors and novice drivers have caused Delaney plenty of trouble during the past two seasons at the Bucks County track.

Delaney figures he has the mechanical end of the deal taken care of and now all he has to do is negotiate his fast-running modified stock through the preliminary heats and then oppose the top 24 drivers in the 20-lap main. Being a scratch man he will have to take off from the rear of this field of 24 and this means a great deal of traffic has to be passed before he reaches the checkered flag.
