Police in Zambia say at least 51 people were killed when a bus carrying dozens of passengers collided with a truck.
The collision occurred Thursday on a busy road about 100 kilometers north of the capital, Lusaka.
Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Kanjela said the death toll could rise as rescue teams were looking for bodies trapped in the wreckage.
Authorities say it was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
Police say the bus was operated by the Zambian postal service, which also provides passenger service on vehicles carrying the mail.
