VOA News
13 April 2014 (3:33PM)

At least 36 people were killed when a bus crashed into the back of a broken-down truck in Mexico and caught fire.

Mexican officials said four people survived the overnight crash with injuries in the southeastern state of Veracruz.

The state civil defense agency said the victims were business people who were travelling from the Tabasco state capital of Villahermosa to Mexico City.

Via Twitter, President Enrique Pena Nieto sent his "deepest condolences" to the families of the victims.

Envío mis más sentidas condolencias a los familiares de quienes perdieron la vida en el accidente carretero de Veracruz.
