Buying Tires Online - My Story and Tips

Buying Tires Online - My Story and Tips

Buying tires online has only recently been introduced in mass within the past few years. Yet there are still so many people who either don't know they can buy tires online, or they're afraid to. Seriously though, why be afraid to shop tires online from a trusted seller while sitting at home in your pajamas? Well, I'm pretty sure they are plenty of reasons why that range from the fear of having to install the tires themselves or maybe not having a mechanic in front of them explaining with certainty what tires are good for a specific vehicle. Well I'm going to lay it out flat. The fact is, ordering tires online is actually much easier and can save you some big bucks. Let me explain why.

Let's start off by throwing out the idea that if you purchase tires over the online that you'll have to install them yourself. What actually happens is that the website you buy your tires from will ask for your zip code. This way the site selling tires online can get you the best shipping price and optionally give you the option of having your tires shipped to a certified local tire dealer where you can just drive there and have them installed. This way you still get professional installation at a location near where you live, wow right!

Now you might ask, doesn't it cost more if you count in the shipping? Your right that if you buy tires locally you won't have to pay for shipping. Keep in mind though, that there are a few factors that more then offset that. The first being that most online tire stores aren't what you call a "Brick and Mortar" store. This means that the place you purchase the tires from doesn't have a physical location, so you don't have to pay taxes. Whatever your tax rate is, that's a big savings on an average order of $380. Another key factor in saving money is that online stores buy in bulk. They sell tires to people all over the world, so they purchase a lot of tires from the manufacturer. That means they get the best deals for their tires.

The final key factor I want to discuss is that online tire stores usually focus on selling tires only online. They have less employees and less overhead. Resulting in even more savings for you. If you are spending $35 on shipping, but saving $25 per tire and don't pay taxes, you can see how you can easily save $100 over four tires.

Another common concern I hear is that people just don't know which tire is right for them. Like they need that expert to tell them which tires work for their vehicle. I like to reply with no single person or store could possibly rival the information you can find online. It's as simple as typing in your car's make and year and any good online tire store will list every tire they have that fits your car. Some websites even go as far as suggesting tires for your driving style. Meaning if you drive mostly on pavement or dirt, if you drive mostly highways or city streets, or in good weather or bad they'll show you the best tires. On top of all that you get customer reviews of each tire and expert advice on which tires are better than others. In the end they make it so easy and less time consuming to find the perfect tire for you and your vehicle.

With all this said, we can 100% say that it's quite safe to buy tires online from a trusted website with good reviews to back it up. One trick I like to do when buying tires online is to actually use Google and take the store name and search for it with reviews at the end. So try something like this, find a company online that sells tires and search for "Company Reviews" in Google and see what comes up. This is just one example of how you can see what others like yourself have to say after they have ordered from a specific online store. Overall, it's obviously faster, very easy, and as we've learned, a cheaper way to get new tires on your vehicle. As a customer myself, I've found that I get better service, discount pricing, and I can stay at home playing X-Box while ordering tires from my phone. Hope you all enjoyed my findings, signing off.
