People usually cite savings as the reason for buying a hybrid automobile. Savings, as in, either fuel or environment, or both.
Hybrid vehicles save gas by getting better mileage for the fuel used. Some hybrids currently get fifty miles per gallon of gasoline. That measures to be as much as fifty percent better use of gasoline. That results in the use of less oil overall which has meaning for world affairs.
Other positives cited with hybrid cars include less chemical pollution in the earth's atmosphere, and a reduction in stressors from noise associated with conventional engines. When a hybrid goes into the mode that uses only electricity, it emits no pollutants at all. Also, these kinds of motors are not dependent on mechanisims that cause vibration so they provide a smooth ride with reduced noise compared to gas only vehicles.
Auto makers now have an incentive to promote hybrids. These cars are growing in popularity and are helpng to bring about the needed changes to make the mode of transportation mainstream. With each sale, dealerships replace inventory and the pattern grows, expanding to include more and more hybrid orders.
Insurance is cheaper for some hybrids. Value is retained with one of these new cars making the resale price higher. Since hybrids are built with certain high standards they retain value for a longer time. Savings over the lifetime of the car can be much more economical for the owner in the long run.
Due to the efficiency of the cars some states and cities allow hybrid cars to occupy single driver car pool lanes. Even free parking is offered in some places. The influx of new models of efficient cars has caused the entire industry to build better cars using more advanced technology.
Hybrids have changed the way we think and drive. These changes influence the entire culture in a way that spreads quickly. The diversity on the road today is being challenged with new standards that will one day become the norm. Driving a hybrid in today's system is considered to be a different way of driving. The day is soon coming when this difference will be very old news, with more improvements that we can hardly image at the present time.
Hybrids will go down in history as the link to a better world, that bridged the gap between the old way and the new and improved the use of automobiles. Yes, hybrids really do save money.
