Steve's Electric returns to present season opener!
NEW YORK (May 24, 2017) The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series gets its eleventh season underway this weekend in western New York. Action kicks off Friday night at Lancaster Speedway & Dragway and then continues on Saturday afternoon at Empire Dragway in Leicester.
The TNTSS Memorial Day weekend double header presented by Steve's Electric has a guaranteed $1000 to win each day and has become a tradition in the 10.90 based sportsman drag-racing series. To double up, racers will need to be good on the eighth mile at Lancaster and then just as good on the quarter mile at Empire.
Each TNTSS race is of course a qualifier for the REVS Full Throttle Powersports RACE OF CHAMPIONS coming up in June where all you have to do is be a TNTSS race winner and you are automatically entered into the free $1200 / WIN event.
As always, TNTSS races continue to have the best payouts with more than 100% of entry fee going into the racer’s purse. Add on the specialty awards including the Hoosier Tire Canada qualifying bonus and the J&S Collision First Round Loser Awards and expect there will be a strong car count as the season gets underway.
The 2017 TNTSS points chase will have eleven races starting with this weekend. Last year’s Memorial Day weekend winners were Mark Herbold and Pete D’Agnolo.
Racer gates open at 3pm on Friday at Lancaster with qualifying at 5pm. Visit www.lancasternationalspeedway.com for more information.
Saturday sees Empire's gates open at noon with qualifying after 2pm. See www.empiredragway.com for all the details.
