TALLADEGA, Alabama (September 30, 2008) - - A busy week lies ahead for Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas as the 21-year old racecar driver will compete in both the ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) events at Talladega Superspeedway.

Eyeing to make his second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the 2008 season and second start at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, Silas and his Fast Track Racing team are thrilled to welcome D.R. Horton America ’s Builder as the primary sponsor on the team’s No. 48 Chevrolet Silverado for Saturday afternoon’s Mountain Dew 250 Fueled by Winn-Dixie.

D.R. Horton, Inc., America 's Builder, is the largest homebuilder in the United States , delivering more than 41,000 new homes in its fiscal year ended September 30, 2007. Founded in 1978 in Fort Worth , Texas , D.R. Horton has expanded its presence to include communities in 80 markets in 27 states. The Company is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality single-family detached homes, town homes, duplexes, triplexes and condominiums with sales prices ranging from $90,000 to over $900,000. D.R. Horton also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through DHI Mortgage and DHI Title.

“I’m really excited to be carrying the D.R. Horton America ’s Builder colors this weekend at Talladega ,” said Silas, who will also compete in Friday’s ARCA RE/MAX 250 for the ARCA RE/MAX Series. “This is a big race for me but an even bigger race for our newest sponsor and we want to go out there, stay in the lead draft and grab a good finish.”

Silas’s NCTS debut at Talladega last year didn’t go as planned as the sophomore ARCA driver was eliminated from the race when two trucks collected the No. 71 Rockingham Speedway Chevrolet Silverado on lap 54 resulting in a 32nd place finish.

A year later, Silas is a little more knowledgeable and a little more prepared for his tango with Talladega in NASCAR’s hottest division.

“ Talladega is tough. It’s a mental game, big time. These trucks are so fast; there is literally no room for error. We have a good truck that we’re bringing to the track and I know we’ll have some horsepower from Wegner Automotive, so the key is to stay in line, make friends and be around in the end.”

Silas went on to mention, “The trucks are a lot of fun though. The racing is great and it’s an awesome spectacle for the fans. We just hope to avoid the “big one” and come home with a top-15 finish.”

Participating in the 20th event on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Friday afternoon can prove to be a benefit to the upcoming driver.

“The ARCA race will be just as tough as the truck race,” sounded Silas. “The ARCA restrictor plate races have really picked up as far as the competition goes and that can only help me for Saturday afternoon. I have a good team and a great new sponsor and I hope that what I learn from the draft in the race on Friday can be applied to Saturday afternoon’s rumble.”

Jeff McClure, Silas’s ARCA RE/MAX Series crew chief will call the shots Saturday afternoon.

Entering Talladega, Silas has six NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts to his credit with a career best finish of 25th at Kentucky Speedway (July 2007) while also hosting a career best qualifying effort of 32nd at Kansas Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway last year. The trucks are fielded by two-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Andy Hillenburg.

The Mountain Dew 250 Fueled by Winn-Dixie (250 miles/94 laps) is the 20th of 25 events on the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. The third NCTS race ever at Talladega Superspeedway is a three day show. Practice begins Thursday, October 2 with an hour and 15 minute practice session planned from 1:15 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Final practice has been etched in from 3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Pole qualifying is slated to begin at 12:05 p.m. Friday afternoon. The field will take the green flag on Saturday, October 4 shortly after 4:00 p.m. The event will be televised live on SPEED with MRN handling the airwaves starting at 3:30pm. The race will also be available via Sirius satellite radio channel 128 also launching at 3:30pm. All times are Eastern.
