Have you ever wondered what the most expensive car in the world are? And why people would buy them? (besides being insanely rich). In this article we will go through the top most expensive cars on the market. The criteria? Simple the cars must be road legal, so you are allowed to drive them on public roads and they must still be available to buy on the market today. So let's just get out the way The 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe which sold for $ 8,700,000 in 1987 because that is not available to buy on the market anymore.
The first car on our list may not be the most expensive but it certainly packs a punch. It's the Pagani Zonda Clinque Roadster which is priced at $ 1,850,000. An extremely luxurious sports car that has a very unique style. It can go from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 217 mph. A great car for the mega rich, well if you're not quite rich enough to buy the most expensive cars anyway.
Second up is the stunning Lamborghini Reventon, Lamborghini's fastest model yet and will set you back $ 1,600,000. The Reventon takes 3.3 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph and will do a top speed of 211 mph. The reason for the extreme price tag is the unique design and the rarity level of the car. This car is a real head turner and definitely contends with any super car for looks, but perhaps not for the speed.
The world's most expensive road legal car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, is priced at an astounding $ 2,400,000. Its quite easy to see why it's the most expensive. It's 0-62mph time is unrivaled at 2.5 seconds and it currently holds the world record for the fastest road legal car which currently sits at 267 mph. Only the ultra rich possibly afford one, and even then I would never even want to drive it just for fear of damaging it.
