SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of Félix Santos Sepúlveda (Santos).
On December 12, 2019, Santos was arrested by FBI Cleveland special agents of the Youngtown Resident Agency in Ohio. He was wanted by FBI San Juan for his involvement in carjacking activity in Puerto Rico and will be transported to the island to face charges.
Santos was indicted October 21, 2019, along with eight other defendants, including Rey Giovannie Oquendo Guevarez a/k/a Bin Laden. He is charged with violations of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2119(1) (Carjacking) and Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(c)(1)(A)(ii) (Brandishing of a Firearm in furtherance of a crime), for events which took place March 23, 2019, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. If found guilty, subject faces up to 15 years in federal prison.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Alex Alum and is being investigated by the FBI.
