FBI Releases Photos of Armored Car Robbers
FBI Houston
21 October 2014
The FBI is releasing photographs of two armed men who kidnapped an armed Loomis guard on Monday and stole the armored car that the guard was driving. Despite the men’s efforts, Loomis security measures activated during the robbery prevented the men from gaining access to the vehicle’s vault. The robbers were only able to get away with money the guard was carrying in her hand at the time of the robbery. The armed robbers remain at large and the FBI needs your help identifying them.
At about 7:40 a.m., the armed men approached the guard after conducting business near the intersection of Reed and Cullen Road in Houston, Texas. The armed robbers forced the guard inside the armored car and took off down the street. Security measures activated prevented the robbers from gaining access to the vehicle’s vault. They quickly released the guard, abandoned the vehicle, and were last seen getting into a light green metallic colored sedan. The armed robbers got away with some cash, but only the cash the guard was carrying at the time of the robbery. The guard was not physically hurt during the robbery.
One of the robbers is described as a heavyset black male with a goatee. He wore a red hooded sweatshirt during the robbery. The other robber is described as a black male with a medium build and a goatee. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and carried a two-tone pistol during the robbery. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of these armed robbers. If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Houston Field Office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
