SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of Kevin Gabriel Oyola Santiago and Keishmarie Rivas Marcano.
Oyola and Rivas were arrested today, November 20, 2019, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, by FBI San Juan special agents of the Violent Crimes Squad, after being detained by Police of Puerto Rico (POPR) agents of the Naranjito Precinct in the same municipality on November 19, 2019.
The subjects were federally charged under a complaint with violations of Title 18 U.S.C. § 2119(1)—carjacking and § 1951 – Hobbs Act Robbery, for carjacking an uber driver in Corozal, Puerto Rico, on November 19, 2019. If found guilty, the subjects face up to 20 years in federal prison.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) David Henek and is being investigated by the FBI.
