SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of Rey Giovannie Oquendo-Guevarez, aka “Bin Laden”.

The defendant was arrested on May 31, 2019, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, by the United States Marshal Service, the FBI South Resident Agency, and the Police of Puerto Rico. The FBI South Resident Agency took custody of the defendant who was charged via complaint with violations of Title 18 United States Code 924 (c)(1)(A) (ii)-(iii), Brandishing /Discharging a Firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, Title 18 United States Code 1951, Attempted Hobbs Act Robbery and Title 18 United States Code 2119(1), Carjacking.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) David Henek and is being investigated by the FBI.
