General Motors Corp.’s Chevrolet unit in Europe will be pulling the wraps off its new supermini, the Aveo, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The Aveo will replace the Kalos, going into production in March next year.
Chevrolet Aveo got its name from the saloon sold in North America and selected markets in Europe. However, the minicar will be flaunting a unique bodywork and auto parts accessories. The Aveo has the latest front end and will come with two petrol engine choices – the 1.2 producing 84bhp and the 1.4 generating 98bhp. The more powerful engine is available with an automatic gearbox. These fresh features are mated to trusted auto parts such as Chevy brake pads, cold air intake, filter, tailpipe and radiator.
The Aveo hatchback sports curved headlamps and hip split grille, which echoes features of the WTCC Ultra concept, first seen at last year’s Paris Motor Show. The interior of the hatchback features soft-touch plastics and high-quality fabrics. So far, the automaker has not revealed the price for the upcoming car.
Additionally, European car shoppers will get a chance next spring to buy a new hatchback version of the Korean-engineered Aveo sedan that has been on sale for the past year in North America. Both models are variants of the Daewoo Gentra, made by General Motors' Korean affiliate and sold around the world under various brand names, including Chevy, Pontiac and Holden.
The current Aveo sedan has debuted in January last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It was offered for sale in North America in August that same year. The sedan is sold as a 5-door Suzuki Swift+ and a 4-door and 5-door Pontiac Wave in Canada. Other markets for the Aveo include Latin American countries such as the 3-door hatchback in Ecuador, and all body styles in Venezuela, Colombia, and Chile.
The 2008 European Aveo gets an aggressive new face, with overall design cues inspired by the WTCC Ultra concept unveiled last fall at the Paris Auto Show. It is unclear if the new Aveo hatchback will join its sedan counterpart in North America. Currently, the automaker sells an older version of the hatchback, badged Aveo 5, as its entry-level model in the United States. Prices start at $10,560.
The Aveo hatchback for Europe looks considerably more advanced and modern than the Aveo sedan that is sold in the States, said Edmunds.com, an auto shopper Web site. This hatchback is engineered to cater the demanding needs of modern drivers especially women.
In a latest survey, it was found that 45.9 percent of City Chevrolet's customers are now women, thanks to the OnStar feature. City Chevrolet is the leading Chevrolet dealer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to 24-7 Press Release, OnStar's presence has now made a huge difference in the auto world and in people's lives. This advanced feature has redefined safety and has become everyone's favorite choice. According to the survey, women always prefer to have this sophisticated system in their cars.
OnStar is the only safety, security and communications system available across a wide variety of auto product lines that combines the personal assistance of caring Advisors available 24/7 and the reliable cutting-edge technology that can be called for help when needed. In addition, the system also has the ability to trace stolen vehicles.
