New York, Jan. 24.—Arthur N. Jervis, manager of the advertising department of the American Locomotive company, died yesterday in his apartment at the Hotel Carlton. He was descended from one of Admiral Nelson's captains. His family has been known on Long Island for upwards of a century. Mr. Jervis was born at Amityville on May 26, 1865, was educated in grammar and high schools of this city and then became a newspaper man. He was one of the first to conduct an automobile department in a newspaper and for several years Mr. Jervis looked after the automobile news for publication.
