Nothing Beats Quality Audi Exhaust and Head Gasket

Audi's German tagline is "Vorsprung durch Technik," meaning "Advancement Through Technology," implying an advantage because of superior engineering. In English, one translates this as "Truth in Engineering." For years, Audi has developed vehicles known for their engineering excellence. These automotive triumphs have, in part, resulted from the employment of quality Audi parts meticulously engineered to give only the best performance that automotive consumers worldwide truly deserve. Among these Audi parts are the Audi exhaust and the Audi head gasket.

There are basically three main functions of the Audi exhaust system. First is to greatly reduce the sound made by the internal combustion engine. The second is to lower the temperature of the exhaust. Third is to control vehicle emissions and ultimately, to convert these harmful gases into acceptable engine by-products when they are released into the open air. Without the exhaust system, a car would be incredibly and staggeringly loud while spewing lots of deadly fumes that harm and poison our atmosphere. The Audi exhaust is principally a pipe that directs the engine's exhaust stream from the exhaust manifold to the tailpipe. Before reaching that point, these gases must first pass through the catalytic converter (this is the emissions device that converts poisonous exhaust emissions to water vapor and CO2), through the muffler and out into the open. Decreased power performance, foul odors, or odd, loud noises coming from a Audi muffler are often indicative of a failing Audi exhaust. Although the exhaust is designed to withstand harsh applications, rocks, dirt, and mud can still contribute a great deal to its failure.

The Audi head gasket, on the other hand, is one of the most important parts in an engine primarily because it has to seal all of the combustion chambers as well as the coolant and oil channels between the head and block. The seal must strictly be leak-free right from the moment it was installed. A typical Audi head gasket is good for about 150,000 miles or more. Beyond that, damages and performance failure can be expected. One such example is a blown Audi head gasket. A blown head gasket is a gasket impaired by a leak often caused by the compression within the cylinder. The situation has worsened because of the greater use of aluminum cylinder heads in place of iron. Since aluminum demonstrates greater thermal expansion, this leads to a great deal of stress, making it susceptible to overheating. A blown Audi head gasket can give rise to a number of engine-related problems. One of these is compression loss, a problem that can ultimately lead to power reduction and rough engine performance. Other problems may also include greater engine wear and excessive engine damage.
