One of the most prestigious events in the auto industry is about to open its doors once again to the members of the media and the public as well. The North American International Auto Show will open its doors to the world in just a little more than two months time. Being one of the biggest events of its kind, auto enthusiasts are already looking forward to the event.
At the upcoming motor show, numerous concept cars will be once again showcased. In recent memory, the Chevy Volt concept is one of the most popular concept cars unveiled at the NAIAS. And for the 2008 installment of the event, attendees will no doubt look for cars more advanced and more exciting than the Volt. The event is also a favorite among automakers where they will unveil new models or redesigned ones.
Being a very big event, the NAIAS will give automakers the chance to reach millions of people with the unveiling of their new vehicles. Next year's staging of the event will mark the 20th year that it has become an international event. With that milestone coming up, wider media coverage can be expected and the organizers of the event will no doubt go to all length to deliver a stunning show.
Carl Galeana, the senior co-chairman for the 2008 North American International Auto Show, has this to say: "NAIAS 2008 is coming together fast. The 10-week construction period is well underway and automakers, show exhibitors and display companies are in high gear preparing for our four separate auto show segments: Press Preview, Industry Preview, the Charity Preview black-tie gala and Public Days. With coverage of this show in every medium available in nearly every country, auto enthusiasts will have their finger on the pulse of the NAIAS with up-to-date news on all the fun and excitement of the show."
Joe Serra, the NAIAS 2008 co-chairman, said that there will be an influx of green technologies at the upcoming event. "Although it's too early for the show to reveal all the plans for NAIAS 2008, we can confirm that we are expecting a great year for vehicle unveilings. Already the trends are showing that there will be a great emphasis this year on fuel-efficient vehicles, as well alternative technologies in powertrain. We also are expecting greater trends toward lighter vehicles that emphasize the role of design in maximizing space," said Serra.
The vehicles which will be showcased at the event will no doubt catch the attention of the world as media members from across the globe will cover the event. Expect Japanese, American, and European automakers to participate at the event. Their vehicles will no doubt be as important to the auto industry as a Volkswagen heater core is to a diesel VW Polo.
