ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge Chris Hacker, FBI Atlanta Field Office, and Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields, announce the arrest of Rufus Hurst, 25, who was wanted for hijacking a motor vehicle. Hurst was on the Atlanta Police Departments Ten Most Wanted list.
Hurst was arrested by the FBI led Atlanta Metro Major Offender (AMMO) task force at a residence in College Park this morning, November 15, 2018.
Hurst was wanted for a carjacking and armed robbery that occurred at 644 Joseph East Lowery Boulevard NW, Atlanta on February 11, 2017. Hurst allegedly produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim and demanded and took the victim’s 2004 Nissan Maxima.
Further questions about the incident should be directed to the Atlanta Police Department. Hurst will be held at the Fulton County Jail.
The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
