Ready to Roll: The 2008 Toyota Sequoia

Toyota Motor Sales USA has recently announced the details, features, availability and the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of the all-new second-generation 2008 Sequoia full size sport utility vehicle (SUV).

The redesigned 2008 Toyota Sequoia is scheduled to roll out in dealer showrooms all over the United States starting later this December. The 2008 Toyota Sequoia will be available in three model trim levels including SR5, Limited, and the top of the line all new Platinum model. These model grades with be available in 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrain configuration. According to Toyota, the 2008 Sequoia will carry a starting MSRP ranging from $34,150 up to $55,600.

All 2008 Toyota Sequoia models will equipped with a standard 4.7-liter engine under its hood. For performance oriented customers, Toyota is now offering the monstrous 5.7-liter DOHC V8 engine that pumps out an additional 105 horsepower. This engine can now deliver 381 horsepower and 401 lbs. ft. of torque, and equipped with the state of the art dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). Toyota said that these power and torque delivered by the new 2008 Sequoia is one of the highest outputs in the full size sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. In addition, the 5.7-liter ngine also offers an increased 12 percent of fuel economy on the highway. With this class leading engine, the all new 2008 Toyota Sequoia earned the Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II (ULEV-II) certification. Combined with a six-speed automatic transmission, the new 2008 Toyota Sequoia provides an impressive acceleration and power compared to its competitors in the segment. The 2008 Sequoia also offers a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs.

The 2008 Toyota Sequoia also comes with a wide range of other technical components and driver assistance systems, including the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC on 2WD models), Active-Traction Control (A-TRAC on 4WD models), and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

Among the highlights of the all new 2008 Toyota Sequoia is its all new platform that now provides longer, wider and taller interior dimensions compared to the previous model. Inside, the 2008 Sequoia is now equipped with a second-row seat with a sliding-type seat adjuster. Other features include the auto tri-zone front and rear defroster-linked CFC free air-conditioning, AM/FM single-CD with eight speakers, cruise control, anti-theft and engine immobilizer systems, privacy glass, overhead storage with conversation mirror, manual tilt and telescopic steering wheel, Direct Tire Pressure Monitor System, and standard 275/65R18 tires and 18-inch aluminum wheels, just to name the few. The 2008 Sequoia probably features much powerful braking system compared to Acura CL brake caliper.
