FBI Offers $20,000 Reward for Information in Violent Kidnapping

The Baltimore Division of the FBI and the New Castle County Police Department are asking for the public’s help with information about the violent kidnapping of Nefertiri Trader. The FBI is offering up to a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in her disappearance.

Ms. Trader was last seen being forced into her car in front of her home on Freedom Trail in New Castle, Delaware the morning of June 30, 2014. A witness described hearing screaming and saw someone pull away with Ms. Trader inside her silver 2000 Acura RL with Delaware tag 404893. She’s described as a black woman, about 5’6” tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was 33 years old at the time of her disappearance.

“Nefertiri has two young children and many other family members who are devastated that she is missing. They want to find answers. We hope offering a sizable reward will entice those who may have important information to come forward now,” said Steve Vogt, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Delaware.

New Castle County Police Colonel E. M. Setting stated, “The tragedy of this incident is the heartache the family is suffering as a result of the street code of silence. Our detectives continue to investigate the kidnapping of Ms. Trader, along with our partners from the FBI. It is our hope that the launch of this campaign will provide detectives with new leads. The reward being offered by the FBI adds to the existing reward monies that New Castle County has been offering. Our hope is that these combined funds will break down the code of silence, encourage a tip called into authorities, and bring closure to Ms. Trader’s family.”

Anyone with information about Ms. Trader, her car, or her attacker is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. You could receive a reward of up to $20,000 leading to an arrest in her kidnapping.
