SAVANNAH CLUB VERY BUSY

Committees Working Hard for Event to Be Held on Thanksgiving Day.

NEW YORK, July 11.—Although the grand prize race, to be run at Savannah on Thanksgiving day, is in the hands of the Automobile Club of America, as far as entries, detals, rules, officials and the actual management is concerned, the Savannah people have entire charge of preparing the course, arranging for accomodations for visitors, advertising the race, handling the grandstand and parking spaces and all minor details of the contest.

They have named a steering committee, as follows: Capt. Davant chairman, Mayor George W. Tideman, George J. Baldwin, Harvey Granger and President Frank C. Battey of the Savannah Automobile Club. That committee went to work at once with the energy which has characterized all the efforts of the Savannah people, along these lines.

Subcommittees will be appointed for division of the labor, to arrange to secure accomodations and attend to all details of transportation and care of officials and press visitors. It is said that the general arrangements at Savannah will be the most complete of any ever made for an event of that kind. The grandstand will be enlarged and facilities generally increased. The timing will be the most expensive and complete of any yet attempted.
