Special Agent in Charge (SAC) J. Britt Johnson, FBI Atlanta, in conjunction with Dekalb County Police Interim Chief J. W. Conroy, requests the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible for an August 17 bank robber at Dekalb County and who is also a suspect in additional area robberies in the past three months.
On Wednesday August 17, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., a lone black male entered the BestBank branch located at 3479 Memorial Drive in Decatur, Georgia. After announcing a robbery and obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the robber departed the bank in a yellow taxi cab. It is believed that the robber also arrived to the bank in the same taxi cab. The robber was wearing a red shirt with a Houston Texans logo on it.
This same robber is believed to be responsible for the August 12, 2016 robbery of the same BestBank as above and is being looked at as a suspect in other area robberies.
The robber is described as being a black male, early to mid-30s in age, medium complexion, between 5’10” to 6’0” in height, weighing approximately 200 pounds.
Anyone with information regarding this matter should contact the FBI Atlanta Field Office at (404) 679-9000 or Dekalb PD at (770) 724-7890.
There is a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
