Fugitive Wanted in Prison Gang Investigation Dies in Albuquerque Crash

A fugitive wanted by the FBI in connection with a multi-agency operation targeting the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico (SNM) Prison Gang has died in a motorcycle crash in Albuquerque.

Leroy Torrez, 40, of Albuquerque, died on Friday, May 13, 2016.

He had been wanted by the FBI on a federal felon in possession of a firearm charge.

Paul Enrique Rivera, “Oso,” another fugitive wanted in the operation, was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department on May 8, 2016.

Another fugitive is still at large, and her information can be found on the above-mentioned press release: Shauna Gutierrez, 36, of Belen, is charged with VICAR-conspiracy to murder/attempt murder.
