The engine is the core of a vehicle. It is the one responsible for producing the energy that allows the other auto parts to work. This motor part, however, cannot do all the work, thus it accepts supplementary assistance from other components. Among the many aids of the engine is the tiny performance chip.
Also known as the performance programmer, the performance chip looks similar to those chips found inside personal computers. This particular chip, however, is installed to specifically improve the performance of a vehicle’s engine. In lieu of the engine control unit, this chip does the management for the engine. It monitors the fuel and air combo that goes into the cylinders or valves of the engine. Programmed to control the injection of fuel, the performance chip does not only manage the amount of mixture for the engine but also looks after the proper timing during which to bring in the air and fuel combo.
What happens when the performance chip successfully does its task? Once the heart of the automobile gets hold of the right mixture, which is neither too lean nor too rich, it is able to burn the fuel more efficiently. More horsepower is produced because the mixture is consumed properly. Moreover, this performance component also helps in improving fuel economy. Money and time is well spent because the trips to the gasoline station are lessened with this small engine booster. Because of the improved fuel consumption of the power plant, the noxious emissions are also reduced.
For every driver, especially for those who gear their cars for speed battles where the most efficient fuel burning is necessary, the performance chip is one important component to invest on. No matter how small this auto part is, it does remarkable improvement to the core of any automobile.
