Boost Engine Performance

Boost Engine Performance

Boosting a car’s performance is one thing that all car owners in the world aim for their vehicles. Who would not like an engine that can deliver more power? However, a car owner must properly choose the parts and accessories to install on his vehicle to avoid wasting money on bogus products that offer false benefits.

When it comes to boosting engine power, there are various car accessories out there that offer great deals. One of them is the throttle body spacer. Its function is based on the principle that one can increase the distance that the fuel can reach by increasing the space between the fuel injector and the intake manifold. This is because colder weather makes things contract. Therefore, more power can be obtained by the engine through the bigger explosion generated by more amounts of cold air that enter the combustion chamber. For better efficiency, the usual size of a typical throttle body spacer ranges from 3/8 inch to1/2 inch. It is also made of composite materials or aluminum. A fully functional throttle body spacer can boost the engine output by as much as 18 horsepower while increasing about 25 pound-feet of low-end torque.

Aside from boosting engine performance, the throttle body spacer can also improve fuel economy. This component produces a spinning action of the incoming air-charge as it passes through the throttle body. This air flows all the way through the combustion chamber. This, in turn, results in greater fuel efficiency and engine power.

Installation is not a problem with the throttle body spacer due to its bolt-on installation design. Moreover, the throttle body spacer offers a wider range of functionality since it is proven to be compatible with other aftermarket upgrades such as computer upgrades, cold air intakes, and free flow exhaust systems.
