Kia cee'd Piles Up Awards In Europe

The European auto market is loaded with vehicles manufactured by automakers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, and Audi. Thus, one will find it hard to believe that a Korean made vehicle has been racking up awards in the said continent. According to The Auto Channel, the Kia cee'd has already won eight national Car of the Year-like awards.

The vehicle also received numerous awards from automotive magazines and has ranked at the top of over 30 comparison road tests. For these awards, the Kia cee'd is undoubtedly the most decorated Korean car in Europe. The Korean automaker announced that no other Korean-made vehicles have achieved the same success as the cee'd.

The cee'd battled with the heavyweights in the European auto market. For the first time in Kia's history, they have created a vehicle which has attracted thousands of buyers into their dealership. The automaker was able to do this developing the cee'd for the European auto market solely. The vehicle is also manufactured in Europe.

For its abilities, the Kia cee'd was named as the Family Car of the Year in Sweden. In Greece, the cee'd had been named the Car of the Year. In Poland, it was voted as the Fleet Car of the Year. The cee'd also made its mark in Belgium where it was named the IGN Business Class Lease Car of the Year. It also received similar awards in Romania, the Canary Islands, and Lithuania.

Apart from those awards, the cee'd also took home the Best Hatchback honors in the United Kingdom and in Denmark. It was also named as the Best Wagon by the premier auto magazine Autobild. In The Netherlands, Autoweek magazine gave the Kia cee'd the 2007 Innovation Award.

These accomplishments by the automaker mean that it is catching up with larger automakers. Kia is expected to design and produce more vehicles as worthy of awards as the Kia cee'd. These future vehicles are expected to be equipped with auto parts as reliable and as high quality as Acura car covers.

Jean-Charles Lievens, Senior Vice President of Kia Motors Europe, had this to say: "We are delighted that the Kia cee’d has been so widely acknowledged around Europe as a genuine contender for C-segment best-in-class' honors. Everyone at Kia, in Korea and in Europe, made a huge effort to ensure that the Kia cee’d family is exceptionally well styled, well built, keenly priced and has immense appeal for many different groups of European consumers. With its 5-Star EuroNCAP safety rating, cee’d has played a key role in raising Kia brand awareness. Positive media reports, a stream of ‘best car’ awards and a growing number of delighted Kia owners are accelerating demand for cee’d as we enter 2008."
