Getting To Know Chevy's Futuristic Vehicles

February 1, 2008

These vehicles are not just merely those units that hold a design and style that looks futuristic. There are no flashing lights or LCD windows or anything of that sort. These vehicles actually hold the engine technologies of the future for they have been created to have lesser emission.

These are Chevrolet's new vehicles and they are going to be on display for everyone to see at the upcoming Philadelphia International Auto Show. The event takes place on the first of February with a press conference at ten in the morning at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. General Motors’ vice president for global product planning, John F. Smith, would be there to show off their range of vehicles. A number of Chevrolet vehicles would be taking the spotlight and showing off the features that they have been built to have.

One of these vehicles would be the Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell and this one is known to have the capacity to spurt out zero emissions. It can even zoom for a total standstill to a high of 60 miles per hour in just 12 seconds. Tests on the vehicle revealed that it can clock a top speed of 100 miles per hour.

A full sized SUV in the form of the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid would also be seen there. Made to run on two wheel-drive, the Tahoe Hybrid has the capacity take in eight adult passengers and to achieve 21 miles per gallon in the city. Experts have even said that this vehicle has got better mileage than those units from the Honda wheels manufacturer.

The Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid would also be taking its place in the spotlight. This time, the unit is considered to be the most refined sedan and the most fuel efficient unit in its segment. Previous models of the Malibu had not been able to receive 24 mpg for city driving and 32 mpg for highway driving from the Environmental Protection Agency.

Remember Bumblebee from Transformers? Well, a Chevrolet Camaro Convertible concept unit would also be basking in the limelight. This unit has a forward-looking design as reported by The Auto Channel but still has a splash of its style heritage. This one is already set to go into production by next year.
