Website Shows Car Consumers' Internet Habits

Website Shows Car Consumers' Internet Habits

Did you know that your actions online can be actually recorded and compiled and studied? Did you know that these recorded statistics are actually used by auto makers, sellers, dealers, and web site owners so as to be able to learn just what the consumer needs or what the consumer looks for?

That is one of the ways how the market works and it is fairly interesting to note that from individual consumers just checking out one car or one auto part, these are collected and compiled and later on converted into statistics. And these statistics do tell a lot of how consumers online think and what they would like to learn more about.

MyRide.com is yet another website which has done studies on consumer’ searches while on their site, The Auto Channel reported. One of the findings from their data is that the Honda Civic has been the most researched vehicle at their site. This just goes to show that the Civic’s popular has yet to wane and to add to the splendor that is the Civic’s, the vehicle had just been included in the list of the top ten vehicles which are most requested last year.

Upon accessing MyRide.com, statistics from the site have it that users actually go search first for a used vehicle. That is the one action that most users do. Also, there are more users looking for used vehicles than new vehicles and last year has been the period when searches for new vehicles have gone down.

Online car consumers may not be looking for Chrysler parts exactly but they actually are using MyRide.com to search for good and reliable online shops that sell auto parts and automotive accessories. A poll that the web site has done during the SEMA 2007 had revealed that 71% of those polled do online searches so as to find online shops for their car accessories rather than go visit local shops which offer such auto products. At MyRide.com, the top five most searched auto accessories (in order) are exhaust systems, car alarms, performance parts, auto appearance accessories, and last are tinted windows.

Visitors of MyRide.com also do love reading car reviews and the most viewed review for last year was the one on the Chevy Camaro Convertible concept. And the video that came along with this one became the second most viewed video.
